Castle Cove House: DA Underway
Castle Cove House: DA Submitted
We are very excited to have recently submitted a new Development Application for our Castle Cove House.
Our clients came to us with a uniquely sloped site, and with a desire to take advantage of the northernly aspect as well as bushland and water views. The result was a generous dual winged estate, with expansive living and family spaces, large enough to accommodate the family and its guests.
In addition to PWAs commitment to environmentally sensible design principles, Castle Cove House was also required to address the challenges of Willoughby Council’s E4 Environmental Living Zone principles.
Recognising the significance of Willoughby’s natural landscape, we created a series of multi-levelled landscaped courtyards and gardens, emphasising strong relationships to the internal living spaces. This allowed us to ultimately achieve four storeys of living and dormitory spaces, terracing down the natural slope of the sandstone escarpment, while preserving significant rock formations.
With native landscaping within the courtyards and gardens, the building blends seamlessly with the natural landscape of the site, creating the perfect balance for both clients and council.
