Bondi Beach Semi Renovation: Design Concept

Our clients Petrea and Angus approached us again after the first-floor addition we worked with them on their Bondi Beach semi 15 years ago. Now their two young boys are high school age, the family desperately needs more space.

When it comes to the first-floor additions of any semis, Waverley Council usually prefer a second-storey with a gable roof build form. Working with a good team and with the client’s support, a currently less common atypical second-floor addition was approved and built 15 years ago. It was not without fighting.

To add more space internally, this time we need to extend further into the original single-storey building at the front as well as expand both upstairs and downstairs at the back. Interior spaces are remodelled with custom design joinery providing ample storage and creating better shared and private spaces for each of the family members.
