2018 Australian Urban Design Awards Shortlist

2018 Australian Urban Design Awards Shortlist

PWA have been shortlisted to the 2018 Australian Urban Design Awards in the category “Leadership, Advocacy and Research – City and Regional Scale”. Congratulations to all entries that were shortlisted!

This year’s submission “Hyper Active Transport 2.0: Making Density Liveable” expands upon PWA’s 2017 entry and explores the challenges of managing population growth in Sydney. To do so, density must first be recognised as inevitable. The question then shifts to how we make it liveable? The answer is active (walking, cycling, mass transit) NOT passive (cars) mobility.

Through Hyper Active Transport public streets can be reclaimed from cars and returned to the people. Both liveable and prosperous, these Hyper Active Streets are the foundation to energy efficient cities of the future.

For more information on the submission head to the ‘Hyper Active Streets: Oxford Street’ project under the ‘Think Tank’ page or click the link below.
